What is Rosé wine made from?

The red grape varieties like Grenache, Syrah or Pinot Noir are used for the production of Rosé wine. Contrary to red wine when the grape skins remain in contact with the juice for a considerable period of time, in the case of rosé, skin contact is rather short, and the wine is characterized by its pink color. These red wines are characterized by a lighter body and more subtle flavor profile due to the shorter maceration period.
