Is Amarone dry or sweet?

Amarone della Valpolicella that is usually called Amarone is a dry red wine produced in the Veneto area of Italy. This wine is primarily made from the Corvina grape variety and has undergone a distinctive winemaking process, appassimento, in which the grapes are dried prior to fermentation. This produces a wine with opulent flavors, high levels of alcohol, and great fruit concentration; however, it is considered dry because of its low residual sugar.
