When should I drink Zinfandel?

Zinfandel is best appreciated when young because it retains its fruit-rich character and zesty acidity. Yet some styles, especially those blended by professional blenders or extracted from old vineyards, would evolve although advanced in age, making them interesting with complex flavors of wood, leaves, spice, and earthiness. It is suggested that you drink the zinfandels of this age within five to ten years from their vintage for the most enjoyment.
