What kind of wine is Tempranillo?

Tempranillo is a red wine grape of Spain, and its wines in general have many red berry, plum and also earthy notes and some leather and tobacco undertones. Tempranillo wines are medium to full-bodied, with great tannins, which reflect the local terroir differences, from the very robust Rioja to the refined Ribera del Duero.
