What grape varieties are commonly used in New Zealand wines?

New Zealand is known as a Sauvignon Blanc country due to its perfect weather for the grapes within the Marlborough area, for example. Because of that, Pinot Noir could be considered as one of the top, especially from Central Otago and Martinborough. Chardonnay is not missing the act, it often making an impression, showing the fruit & mineral features. Please, pay attention to my suggestions in red. On the other hand, there are some varieties that are popular and found more than others like Riesling, Pinot Gris and Syrah, which carry characteristic traits of regions.
