How is orange wine different from white wine?

Orange wine is different from white wine because of a lengthy maceration process whereby white grape skins are left in contact with the juice during fermentation. Such prolonged contact between the skin and the white juice allows the orange wine to have its unique tint, tannic feature and also complex flavors, in complete contrast to what normally happens in the white wine production where skins are so much separated from the juice.
