How does the alcohol content of Amarone compare to other red wines?

The distinctive technique of Amarone, which includes a partial grape dehydration before the fermentation, produces a higher sugar content leading to higher alcohol level of the obtained wine. Although most of the red wines lies within 12% to 14% alcohol range, Amarone surpasses this with most of the wines being in 14% to 16% and sometimes even more than that. Such increased alcohol content adds to full-bodied nature and rich mouthfeel of Amarone.
