How does aging affect the taste of Zinfandel wine?

Zinfandel wines could be good with aging, when the wine gets to develop and mature, so that the tannic parts become less evident and flavors show more harmoniously. Not to mention that while some Zinfandels are delightful when young and light in flavor, aging causes the wine to develop secondary characteristics that include leather, tobacco, and spice, making the Zinfandel taste heartier as it matures.
