How do Slovenian wine regions differ in terroir and wine styles?

Slovenian wine regions tend to be distinguished by their soil types and the corresponding vinification of the wines. The wine region close to the Mediterranean sea called Primorska which represents in its climate the Mediterranean type has some great reds like Refošk and Teran, however, the continental climate of the other great region – Podravje – is pretty good for the fine whites of Riesling and Traminer.
