David and Heather Watson dreamed of making their own world-class Bordeaux-style blends when they founded their own winery in 1973. Woodlands was one of the very first wineries to be planted in Australia’s Margaret River region and now has 10 hectares of vines which are all farmed organically. In 2021 the winery was chosen as one of Wine & Spirits magazine’s Top 100 Wineries, a testament to their rigorous winemaking and excellent terroir.
Their Clementine cuvee is a complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from Woodlands’ Brook Vineyard. The fruit from this prized plot is bold, aromatic, and intense, creating powerful red wines with plenty of rich berry notes. Following vinification the young wine is aged in French oak barrels for 16 months to soften the tannins and add extra complexity.
The inky deep red hue in the glass is complemented by hints of mulberry, blackcurrant, dark cherry, and black olive on the nose. The first sip reveals a robust full body, firm tannins, and a solid core of dark berries which linger on the tongue. The finish is long and intense, with hints of bay leaf, tobacco, cedar and woodsmoke.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
