Woodlands Brook Vineyard Chardonnay 2024

Founded by David and Heather Watson in 1973, Woodlands is a prestigious, award-winning winery with 28 hectares of vineyards located in Western Australia's renowned Margaret River wine region. After a period of several years in which the company decided to sell its grapes to other wineries, in the late 1990s, following a significant expansion and reconstruction phase, Woodlands fully resumed operations and achieved great success once again.

Chardonnay grapes from the estate's second vineyard, planted in 2001 on a gentle northwest-facing slope, on Wilyabrup soils with a top layer of silty clay, a layer of gravel, and finally a layer of white clay. After harvest and fermentation, the wine matures for a year in oak, acquiring creaminess and structure.

In the glass, the wine reveals a yellow-green color with pale gold highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and expressive, with notes of citrus, lemon meringue, pineapple, and melon, followed by hints of cedar and juniper, and a touch of turmeric. On the palate, it is concentrated and intense, with a velvety, rich character. It is fruity, round, and well-structured, with a long, lively finish that recalls the aromas perceived on the nose. Try it with herb-roasted chicken or truffle risotto.
