Viñedos de Páganos is the label under which the Sierra de Cantabria winery, founded by the Eguren family, produces wines with grapes from the El Puntido and La Nieta vineyards, both located in the ancient medieval Basque town of Páganos. This label was created in 2001 and over the years has achieved considerable success thanks to the high quality of the wines produced.

The Tempranillo grapes for this wine come from the El Puntido vineyard, from vines with low yields, planted on soils with a high percentage of chalk which produce wines with a strong mineral character. After vinification, the wine rests in new oak barrels for approximately 28 months.

Vinedos de Paganos El Puntido Gran Reserva has a deep color with red tones and garnet nuances. On the nose, the wine is intense and complex with aromas of plum and ripe red fruit, followed by slightly balsamic notes and hints of chocolate and coffee. On the palate, it is rich and concentrated, full and well-balanced. It has firm, well-integrated tannins and a good acidity. The finish is long and slightly spicy. Enjoy it now with a spicy red meat stew or leave it in the cellar for a few more years.
