This is a semi-sweet red from Vine Ponto, with pungent aromas of blackberry and plum jam, sour cherry and sweet baking spices. It is a beautiful ruby red in the glass, intensifying around the rim to an inky purple. Kindzmarauli is Georgia’s most famous appellation for off-dry wines, and this is a fantastic example to begin with, made from 100% Saperavi.
Vine Ponto was founded in 2014, in Georgia’s wine capital of Telavi, in the stunning region of Kakheti. The name refers to the region's ancient viticultural past, as the origin point for the tradition of winemaking. The winery also aims to preserve the traditional ways of making Georgian wine, through the use of clay amphorae known as qvevri, and avoiding technological intervention.
This Kindzmarauli is full-bodied and off-dry in the mouth, sporting a delicious palate of black cherry, blackberry and sweet, subtle spices. Its tannins are velvety and fine, and a pleasant vein of acidity pushes the wine into a long finish, with a fruity aftertaste. Kindzmarauli can be shared with friends or enjoyed alone, but it is at its best when paired with chocolate or cheese.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
