This bold white is made with 100% Arneis grapes sourced from Santo Stefano Roero in the heart of the Roero region. Following the harvest the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a lower temperature in order to maintain some natural carbon dioxide from the fermentation process.
In the glass the wine displays an enticing pale yellow hue and intriguing aromas of citrus, melon and almonds. The first sip reveals a refreshing acidity, medium body and plenty of lemon zest and toasted nut flavours. The light and crisp flavour profile makes this an ideal partner for summer salads, ceviche, fruits de mer, and soups. It will also pair well with creamy cheeses thanks to the bright acidity which can help to cleanse the palate from the richness of the cheese.
The Vietti winery is well-known all over the globe for their dedication and passion for winemaking. The estate can trace its roots back to 1919 when Mario Vietti began to produce the first Vietti wines. Over the intervening years the winery has undergone many changes and sought new directions. One of the most important of these was the work done by Alfredo Currado who is known as the “Father of Arneis” thanks to his work in 1967 to save the indigenous Arneis grape which was in danger of extinction.
