Vassaltis is a renowned Greek winery founded in Santorini in 2016 by economist Yannis Valambous using the vineyards inherited from his father. The winery is run by talented winemakers Yannis Papaeconomou and Elias Roussakis who, together with Valambous, produce excellent quality wines by combining traditional winemaking with modern technology.
The Assyrtiko grapes for the production of this wine come from the vineyards of Pyrgos, Megalochori, and Vourvoulos. After manual harvesting and whole bunch pressing, fermentation takes place in oak barrels where the wine rests on its own yeasts before bottling.
Alcyone Cuvee Mythologique is a wine with great character, capable of aging well in the cellar for at least a decade. It has a clear and bright color with lemon yellow tones and an intense and broad aromatic profile with notes of citrus (especially grapefruit and lemon) and vanilla, orange peel, and brioche on a mineral background. On the palate, it is crisp, fresh and complex. It is juicy and mineral with a well-balanced acidity and a long finish that recalls notes of honey and mineral scents. It is excellent with fish or grilled white meats and seafood.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
