Known in the wine world as the King of New Zealand Chardonnay, Tony Bish is an acclaimed winemaker and specialist in this varietal who founded his winery in 2014 in Hawke's Bay, a wine region on the North Island. Here, the soils and maritime climate with wide temperature ranges create ideal conditions for producing quality Chardonnays.
The Tony Bish Skeetfield Chardonnay is made with grapes of the Mendoza clone from old, dry-farmed vines at the Skeetfield vineyard on Dartmoor, Hawke's Bay. After manual harvesting, whole-cluster pressing, and spontaneous fermentation, the finished wine ages in barriques (60% new).
The result is a powerful and elegant wine with a complex and fragrant aromatic profile revealing notes of red apple and nectarine, followed by hints of lemon blossom and chamomile, and mineral touches on a toasted background. On the palate, it is lively, fresh, and concentrated, with a light savory edge and a dynamic, lean character. It is juicy and balanced, thirst-quenching and round, with a distinctive and well-defined acidity. The finish is long and recalls toasted notes. It is a wine capable of cellaring for several years and developing elegantly, but can also be enjoyed now with salmon or tuna, lobster, or roast poultry.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
