Located in the southern area of Chianti Classico, the Tolaini winery was founded in the late 1990s by Pierluigi Tolaini. The company, which owns approximately 50 hectares of vineyards, avails itself of the consultancy of the famous oenologist Michel Rolland and produces high-level wines, widely known throughout the world.

Al Passo from the Tolaini winery is a blend of almost equal parts of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The grapes come from vineyards planted in 2000 on clay-loam and limestone soils with a high presence of skeleton. The harvest is manual and the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel containers. The finished wine then rests for approximately 14 months in barriques. The name of the wine refers to a clearing located at the top of the Tolaini estate, from which you can enjoy a spectacular panorama of Siena and the surrounding hills.

Its color is brilliant with ruby red tones. Its aromatic profile is fragrant and broad with notes of cherry and berries, sweet spices, violet, and licorice. On the palate, it is well balanced and elegant. It has a good body and soft, ripe tannins. It is a lively wine with good consistency with a long and slightly spicy finish. Have it with lasagna Bolognese.
