A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Located on the slopes of the Judean Mountains, in the heart of one of the main wine areas of Israel, the Teperberg Winery is a family business founded in 1870 and led today by Moti, representative of the fifth generation of the family. Their vineyards span over 350 hectares, located between the Negev mountains and the Upper Galilee. The company produces different ranges of wines that include young and easy-drinking wines, such as those of the Vision and Impression series, and more refined and prestigious wines such as those of the Inspire, Essence and Legacy ranges.

    The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested in the Shfelat Yehuda Vineyard, early in the morning. After a 7-day fermentation at a controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 6 months in French oak barrels.

    Impression Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine with a deep red color. Its aromatic profile is intense and fruity with notes of plum and cherry, cloves, caramel, dried fruit, and some hints of mint. On the palate, the wine is well structured and dry, with velvety tannins and a well-balanced acid vein. The finish is persistent and fruity. It’s the perfect wine with kebabs and Middle Eastern lamb recipes.
