Founded by Avraham Teperberg in the Old City of Jerusalem in 1870, the Teperberg winery (initially called Efrat) is located in Tzora, near Beit Shemesh, and is today considered one of the most important and renowned Kosher wineries in Israel. The company, which owns 350 hectares of vineyards, is now led by Moti Teperberg, the fifth generation of the family. The winemaking operations are managed by renowned winemaker Shlomo Rauchberger, assisted by Olivier Fratty.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are selected and harvested in two exceptional quality vineyards located respectively in the Upper Galilee and in the Ephraim Hills. Both vineyards contribute clearly to the characteristics of the wine which is full-bodied and well balanced. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels.
Teperberg Essence Cabernet Sauvignon is an intense, concentrated wine with a deep, dark color and a ripe, fruity flavor profile. The nose reveals aromas of plums and berries (especially blueberries and raspberries) followed by earthy and coffee notes. On the palate, it is rich, concentrated and full-bodied, balanced and smooth. The finish is long and recalls sweet fruity notes. Keep it in the cellar for a few years, or enjoy it now paired with braised beef.
Great as always!
