Located in Gracciano, one of the historic crus of Montepulciano, the Tenuta di Gracciano Della Seta has a history that dates back to the first decades of the nineteenth century. The vineyards extend over 20 hectares at an average altitude of 300-350 meters above sea level on predominantly loamy-clayey soils. Here Sangiovese, which in Montepulciano is called “Prugnolo Gentile”, reigns supreme. In the cellar, the philosophy is set towards a continuous and constant search for an elegant and traditional style.

The Riserva Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta is aged for one year in French oak tonneau and for one year in large Slavonian oak barrels, with a further six months of rest in the bottle before being put on the market. It is an elegant and harmonious wine, ready to drink now but which can age splendidly for more than a decade.

The wine shows a brilliant ruby-red color with garnet hues. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and intense, composed of floral aromas such as violet and peony, hints of ripe dark fruit, and then notes of oak, leather, tobacco, and licorice. It is a wine of good structure and concentration with an important tannic backbone and a lively freshness that makes it the ideal match for stewed or roasted game, flavored with juniper berries and aromatic herbs.
