Dan Standish’s family have been living and working in the Barossa Valley for six generations. So it was only natural that he would want to found his very own winery here in 1999 while working as winemaker for the well-known Torbreck estate. Inspired by his previous work in France’s Rhone Valley, Dan began the project with an old parcel of Shiraz vines which had been farmed by his father.
Dan’s magnificent wines skillfully capture the beauty of the local Barossa terroir as well as refined Old World approach to winemaking. His speciality is Shiraz, like this exceptional bottling which is made from specially selected parcels and fermented using wild yeasts. The young wine is then left to mature in used oak barrels for 32 months before bottling.
Bursting with ripe cassis, raspberries and blackberries along with undertones of licorice and dried herbs, this punchy red is a great partner for red meat dishes such as a T-bone steak, roast lamb, or a hearty beef stew. It can also be kept in the cellar for a few more years thanks to the robust full body, firm tannins, and intense dark fruit flavours.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
