Founded in 2011 by the Drady spouses with the winemaker Anthony Austin, Sonoma Coast Vineyards is a California winery that produces artisanal wines a short distance from the ocean in an area of the Russian River Valley that benefits from a cool climate. The vines, grown sustainably on thin soils composed of sand and clay, are planted mainly with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, which achieve excellent results in this area.
The Pinot Noir grapes were selected by hand and harvested in the cooler vineyards surrounding the town of Freestone. The use of Dijon clones adds complexity to the wine. The cool climate favors the slow ripening of the grapes, guaranteeing a marked acidity that balances the juicy fruitiness of the wine.
In the glass, the wine shows a soft ruby color with garnet nuances on the edges. On the nose, it has a beautiful fragrance of cherry, pomegranate, and fresh raspberry, with earthy and spicy notes. On the palate, it has a medium body and soft tannins. The acidity is lively and generates a long, fresh finish. It is an excellent wine to drink immediately but can age well in the cellar for a few years. Try it with roast goose.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
