The Scriani winery is a family-run business owned by the Cottinis, and located in Fumane in the Valpolicella Classico wine region. The vineyards extend over approximately 28 hectares of land, at an altitude ranging from 250 to 400 meters above sea level, with vines aged between nine and fifty years.
The wine is produced from a classic blend of local grapes (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Oseleta) coming from the company vineyards Mandolari, Bosco, Tondin, Ronchiel, and La Costa. The harvest is manual and the wine is obtained with the traditional Ripasso method which consists of fermenting the grapes on the Amarone pomace to give it more structure and aromas. The finished wine is then aged for around 20 months in oak barrels and then rests for a further 6 months in the bottle, before being marketed.
The Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore from the Scriani winery has a deep ruby red color. Its aromatic profile reveals intense notes of dark fruit, such as plum, black cherry, and cassis, and notes of undergrowth. On the palate, it is rich, complex, and robust. The finish is long and recalls fruity notes. Excellent with roast meat or pasta served with game ragu.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
