Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant.

Located inside a monastery, in the homonymous village in the province of Ancona, the Santa Barbara winery is led by Stefano Antonucci, a former banker who decided to dedicate himself to wine and take over the company in the 80s. Santa Barbara focuses its production on the native Verdicchio, Montepulciano, and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba vines, but also produces wines from international vines.

The Verdicchio grapes come from vineyards planted at an altitude of about 250-260 meters, on sandy tuffaceous soils. Here the vines enjoy a south-east and north-east exposure that guarantees perfect ripening of the grapes. After the harvest, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel containers, and the finished wine then rests in steel containers for a few months before being bottled and released onto the market.

The wine reveals a clear color with bright straw yellow tones. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex with notes of quince, ripe citrus, and other yellow fruits, followed by hints of fresh almond. On the palate, it is soft and balanced with a marked acidic vein that is very refreshing. It has a medium body and a long fruity finish. It is excellent as an aperitif and is the perfect wine for seafood.
