Located in the village of Shalauri, in the Kakheti wine region of Georgia, Rtvelisi is a winery with over a century of history, featuring an ancient winery restored in 1920. The estate extends over approximately 250 hectares of vineyards spread across several microzones of the region and other wine-growing areas of the country. The company produces a wide variety of Georgian wines from indigenous grape varieties, combining modern technology with traditional techniques such as Qvevri winemaking.

Rkatsiteli Qvevri is a dry amber wine made from grapes sourced from the estate's vineyards in Kakheti, an area widely recognized for its long winemaking history, thanks to a combination of conditions such as altitude, microclimate, and soils ideal for quality viticulture. The wine is fermented and aged in buried clay amphorae, locally called Qvevri, according to an ancient Georgian tradition.

Im Glas zeigt der Wein eine leuchtende, klare Farbe mit bernsteingelben Reflexen. Sein Aromenprofil ist breit und intensiv, mit Noten von reifer Ananas, gelbem Apfel und Pflaume, durchzogen von blumigen Noten und einem Hauch von Honig im Hintergrund. Am Gaumen ist er rund und ausgewogen, mit einer erfrischenden Säure und leichten, geschmeidigen Tanninen. Der Abgang ist lang und erinnert an vielschichtige Aromen von Mandarine, Honig und Gewürzen. Probier ihn mal zu Fisch-Tempura oder Brathähnchen mit Waffeln.
