Rodrigo Méndez is considered one of the greatest Galician and Spanish winemakers. He founded his winery in Meaño (Pontevedra) in 2011 as an independent project of Forja de Salnes, the family business, using ancient family vineyards, some of which are over a hundred years old. Today Mendez produces small quantities of excellent quality wines which strongly express the character of Galicia and in particular of the Rias Baixas.
The Albarino grapes come from a single ungrafted vineyard, located in the municipality of Meano and planted in 1905. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in large old 600-liter jars where the wine then ages for 12 months. This is exactly how Albarino was traditionally produced in the area before the 80s and the introduction of stainless steel in white vinification.
Salvora is a fresh and fragrant Albarino with lively notes of citrus, pear, grapefruit, and Mediterranean herbs, with light salty hints. On the palate, it is vibrant and lean, lively and well structured. The finish is dry and long and recalls mineral notes. It is the ideal wine with white fish and shellfish.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
