Rodrigo Méndez is a Spanish winemaker who undertook his personal project in 2011 in Galicia, his land of origin, and more precisely in Meaño, in the heart of the Salnés valley, where he owns approximately 2.5 hectares of vineyards inherited from the family, some of which were planted more than one hundred years ago by his great-grandfather. His production is limited but his wines have already received widespread critical and public success, and are considered among the best in the region.
The Albarino grapes are harvested by hand from several vineyards aged between 30 and 70 years, located in Meaño on granitic and sandy soils. Fermentation takes place 80% in barrels and the rest in steel. Part of the finished wine is then left for 6 months in the barrels where fermentation takes place.
The wine has a clear and brilliant straw-yellow color. Its aromatic profile is intense and lively with notes of tropical fruit, peach apricot and white flowers, and some balsamic and mineral hints. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced with a vibrant acidity and a marked mineral vein that lingers on the finish. It works deliciously with fish-based tapas, but gives its best with seafood.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
