This fresh and juicy Vermentino comes from the famous Rocca di Frassinello winery. The project is a joint collaboration between Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild, combining French expertise with local knowledge of the region’s traditional grape varieties. The winery was created by bringing together five local farms to create a magnificent estate of 500 hectares which specializes in crafting worldclass wines from both indigenous and international grape varieties.

The fruit for this lively and enigmatic white is harvested at optimal ripeness from some of the winery’s best plots for Vermentino. The grapes are then fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve plenty of freshness and delicate aromatics for 6 months before bottling.

Bursting with zingy lemon, ripe orchard fruits and enticing notes of almond blossom and jasmine on the nose, this elegant white is a great choice to serve as a delicate aperitif or a partner for grilled fish. On the palate there is a refreshing acidity, light body, and pure, clean finish. The natural salinity of the Vermentino also makes it a good match for oysters, hard mature cheeses, or Greek salads.
