Located in La Morra, Piedmont, the Ratti winery was founded in the 1960s when Renato Ratti, after working for years in Brazil, returned to his hometown and purchased a small vineyard beneath the Abbey of the Annunciation in La Morra, in the Marcenasco area. Today, the company, led by Renato's son, Pietro, owns approximately 35 hectares of vineyards spread across six estates.
Langhe Nebbiolo Reggimento is produced with grapes from a south-facing parcel purchased in 2019, located in the highest part of La Morra at almost 500 meters above sea level, facing the Alps. After harvesting and temperature-controlled vinification, the finished wine ages for one year in barrel. The label was designed by Renato Ratti and pays homage to the exploits of 19th-century Piedmontese soldiers defending against Napoleonic invasions.
In the glass, the wine displays a clear and brilliant ruby red color. Its aromatic profile is delicate and fragrant, with fruity notes of raspberry and wild strawberry, and hints of violet typical of Nebbiolo. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rounded, smooth and juicy, with firm yet well-integrated tannins and a long, pleasantly bitter finish. It pairs ideally with mushroom scallops or porcini mushroom risotto.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
