Consistently ranked amongst the finest sparkling wines in the world, Turo D’En Mota is the Recaredo estate’s longest aged wine. This single vineyard Gran Reserva is made with 100% Xarel-lo grapes which were planted in the 1940s. Recently named one of Catalonia’s top Cava vineyards under the new Cava de Paraje Calificado classification, the Turo D’En Mota site boasts loamy soils with a high chalk content which are perfect for crafting vibrant, minerally Cavas which deserve extensive ageing to reveal their full potential.

The Recaredo family only decide to disgorge and release the Turo D’En Mota to the market when they believe each vintage is ready, so most vintages spend at least 100 months maturing with the lees. This beauty sleep adds hints of caramel and toasted almonds to the crisp pear and orange zest aromas and a gentle effervescence that becomes a smooth mousse on the palate.

Despite the considerable age of this Cava, there’s a mouthwatering freshness which lifts the intense caramelized fruit and sweet pastry flavours. No sugar is added to the Cava during disgorging, making the Turo D’En Mota ideal for a celebratory aperitif or a decadent companion for platters of fresh oysters, caviar and foie gras.
