The RAEN winery was founded in 2013 by Carlo and Dante Mondavi, grandsons of the very famous Robert Mondavi. After their studies in Europe, the two winegrowers collaborated with the team of winemakers led by their father Tim Mondavi at the Robert Mondavi Winery until its sale in 2004, when they participated in the foundation of Continuum in 2005. Continuing a prestigious family tradition and the teachings received both by their grandfather and father, Carlo and Dante concentrate the production of their winery on three exceptional class Pinot Noirs, coming from three sites on the western hills of the Sonoma coast, and two Chardonnays.
Royal St. Robert Cuvee is an exceptional Pinot Noir dedicated to the memory of grandfather Robert Mondavi, who played a fundamental role in Carlo and Dante's wine formation. The grapes are selected in the coastal vineyards of the western side of Sonoma. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts.
The wine reveals an intense and vibrant aromatic profile with rose petals, aromas of black and red cherry, raspberry and plum, Mediterranean herbs, forest floor and black tea flavors. In the mouth, this Pinot Noir is elegant and silky, lively, and with fine and delicate floral aromas and some spicy notes. It is the perfect wine for game birds, duck, and goose.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
