Located in the village of Chumlaki, in the Georgian wine region of Kakheti, Qimerioni was founded in 2012 and produces a wide range of excellent wines from indigenous grape varieties. Qimerioni winemaking blends local traditions with the use of advanced technologies.
Khvanchkara is a delicate, semi-sweet wine made from Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes sourced from the Khvanchkara subregion, not far from the town of Ambrolauri. Here, the vineyards enjoy unique soil and climate conditions, particularly favorable for quality viticulture. The continental climate, alluvial soils, proximity to the Rioni River, altitude (between 450 and 750 meters above sea level), and the protection of the Lechkhumi mountain range guarantee the production of wines of exceptional character, known and appreciated internationally since the early 1900s.
In the glass, the wine reveals a bright, clear ruby color. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant, with notes of ripe strawberry and small red berries, cherry, and pomegranate, followed by light spicy touches. On the palate, it is harmonious and round, with a fruity sweetness perfectly balanced by a pleasant freshness. It has a medium-light body and smooth tannins. Try it with red fruit tarts or medium-aged cheeses.
