Founded in 1958, the Cantina Sociale Produttori del Barbaresco has approximately 100 hectares of vineyards which include some of the most prestigious crus of the denomination. Today the cooperative is made of around 52 members and is considered one of the most prestigious wineries in the region.
The Barbaresco Riserva Asili is made exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes from the Asili Cru, one of the most famous in the Barbaresco sub-area in Piedmont. Here the vineyards enjoy clay-limestone soil with some sandy traces and a south-west exposure which favors the perfect ripening of the grapes. After fermentation in steel, the finished wine remains for 36 months in oak barrels and then 9 months in the bottle before entering the market.
The wine shows a clear and brilliant color with ruby red tones and garnet reflections. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex with fragrant notes of red berries, cloves, leather, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is intense and sophisticated. It reveals good complexity and a full body. The tannins are firm but well-integrated. The finish is long and persistent and reveals notes of ripe fruit and undergrowth. It is ready to drink now, accompanied by red meat or game, but it can remain in the cellar for several years.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
