Located in southern Tuscany, on the south-eastern side of the Montalcino hill, the Poggio di Sotto winery was founded in 1989 and is today part of the Colle Massari group. From its 16 hectares of vineyard, the company produces high-quality grapes for its prestigious Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino wines.
The Rosso di Montalcino from the Poggio di Sotto winery is made with 100% Sangiovese grapes sourced from estate vineyards located between 200 and 450 meters above sea level on soils rich in skeleton. After the harvest, the grapes are fermented according to traditional processes. The finished wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months and then left in the bottle for a further 6 months, as required by the specifications for this denomination.
It is a bright red wine with ruby tones. Its aromatic profile is fresh and fruity, with aromas of fresh berries (raspberries and currants), aromatic herbs, and some hints of spices and dried flowers. On the palate, it is lively and well-structured with a soft body and a savory streak. The finish is long and pleasant. It pairs beautifully with red meat and medium-aged cheeses.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
