Located in Piedmont in the province of Cuneo, Poderi Luigi Einaudi is a historic winery founded in 1897 and now run by the fourth generation of the family. The estate boasts approximately 60 hectares of vineyards and is renowned for its excellent wines, including some famous Barolo crus and Dolcetto.
The Pelaverga grapes are selected from a plot of approximately 50 hectares located in the municipality of Verduno, in the province of Cuneo, at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. Here, the clay, limestone, and sandy soils and the western exposure favor the production of a balanced, youthful, and fresh wine. After harvesting and vinification in stainless steel, the wine spends a short period of bottle aging.
Poderi Luigi Einaudi Verduno Pelaverga is a lively, fruity wine that reveals aromas of strawberry and currant, floral notes, and hints of white pepper. On the palate, it is easy to approach, juicy, and medium-light in body with a fresh acidity and delicate tannins. The finish is medium-long and gracefully fruity. It's a red wine best enjoyed young, and can also be served slightly chilled. It pairs well with grilled vegetables, tomato tarte tatin, beef tartare, ricotta and spinach-filled ravioli, and fresh cheeses.
