Poderi Colla is a Piedmontese winery located in Alba, with a long tradition. The Colla family has been involved in winemaking since the 1700s, and throughout history, its members have directly contributed to the history of wine in this region. Today, Poderi Colla owns approximately 28 hectares of vineyards spread across four strategically located estates.
The Nebbiolo grapes are sourced from vineyards planted between 1970 and 1985 in the Dardi di Bussia subzone, cited in various texts as one of the great historic Barolo crus. After manual harvesting and vinification with maceration on the skins for 10-15 days, the wine ages in oak for approximately two years.
The result is a Barolo with a classic and elegant character. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense garnet color and a broad and fragrant aromatic profile with notes of ripe red fruits, floral scents, and an undertone of licorice and tar. On the palate, it is distinctive, powerful, rich, and concentrated, with firm yet smooth tannins and a refreshing, well-balanced acidity. It's a complex wine, capable of aging beautifully for two to three decades, but can already be enjoyed paired with game stews or roast meats.
