Domaine Philippe Colin is a piece of Burgundy history. The winery was officially founded in 2004, but the Colin family’s heritage can be traced all the way back to the 1850s when they first arrived in the region. Philippe Colin sets himself apart from the rest of the competition in Burgundy by the liveliness of his wines, and in the case of this particular wine, the use of oak-ageing.
The winery can be found within the appellation of Chassagne-Montrachet, but the grapes for this Bourgogne were also sourced from choice parcels in Saint-Aubin, adding an undeniable summery character to the wine.
This 100% Chardonnay wine is a light, sunshiney yellow, with green hues. The nose is youthful and energetic, wafting aromas of green apple, citrus, honey and white flowers. The bouquet and the palate both exhibit strong, creamy notes from oak barrel fermentation, which took place over 11 months. Look for round flavours of ripe fruits, such as peach, pineapple and citrus, backed up by racy acidity. Subtle spices and hints of butter emerge on the finish. This is a young, exciting and extremely delicious wine. Pair it with citrus-infused dishes, such as scallops, baked lemon chicken, or any creamy white fish dish.
Pas de problème particulier.
