Located in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe, Poderi e Cantine Oddero is a historic Piedmontese company today led by Mariacristina and Maria Vittoria, daughters of Giacomo Oddero. The company, which produces local wines such as Barolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Moscato d'Asti, owns approximately 35 hectares of vineyards, of which 16 are cultivated with Nebbiolo for the production of Barolo.
The Barbera grapes are sourced from vines with an average age of about 50, located in a 1-hectare vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. Vinification and aging take place according to traditional methods, and the finished wine rests in French oak barrels for 16-18 months before bottling.
Barbera d'Alba Superiore by Poderi e Cantine Oddero reveals a bright and intense color with ruby tones and purple nuances. Its aromatic profile is broad with captivating notes of black cherry, blackberry, ripe red fruits, and an undertone of fragrant herbs such as bay leaves and juniper. On the palate, it is lively and complex, fresh and concentrated. It has firm and well-integrated tannins and a marked acidic streak typical of this grape. The finish is long and pleasantly fruity. It works beautifully with the classic French onion soup or pasta with meat sauce.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
