The young Negretti winery was founded in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont, in 2002. The estate's vineyards span approximately 13 hectares, managed by brothers Massimo and Ezio Negretti, who come from a long line of winemakers. Massimo serves as winemaker, while Ezio handles the company's commercial management. Their business philosophy emphasizes a modern approach while fully respecting the winemaking traditions of this renowned region.
The Nebbiolo grapes are sourced from the Bricco Ambrogio vineyard located in Roddi. The vines, planted in 1950, enjoy a southern exposure and an altitude of approximately 250-270 meters above sea level, and are rooted in marly, calcareous soils. After harvesting and undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the finished wine is aged for two years in French oak barriques.
In the glass, Barolo Bricco Ambrogio reveals a vibrant amaranth color with purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and ripe with intense notes of raspberry, small red berries, and orange zest, along with hints of wood and black pepper. On the palate, it is bold and powerful, soft and warm, with firm tannins and a well-balanced acidity. The flavor reveals a good complexity that lingers on the finish with a mineral touch. Try it with wild boar stew.
