Attilio Ghisolfi is a Piedmontese winery that has been in the family for four generations. However, the real turning point in winemaking occurred in the late 1980s, when Gianmarco joined the company and focused on producing and bottling its own wines. The vineyards, sustainably managed with full respect for the terroir, are planted primarily with Nebbiolo and Barbera.
The Nebbiolo grapes come from the youngest vineyards (average age approximately 15 years) located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba in the prestigious Bussia cru, approximately 300-350 meters above sea level. Here, the vines enjoy south- or south-southwest exposure and are rooted in the typical marl-limestone soils of the Langhe. After harvesting, the vinification takes place traditionally using indigenous yeasts. The finished wine then ages for 30 months in large barrels and an additional 6 months in the bottle.
The result is a structured and elegant wine with a bright, clear ruby color and garnet highlights. On the nose, it reveals a broad and rich aromatic profile with notes of cherry, red forest berries, and ripe raspberry, followed by floral aromas and some earthy hints. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round, and concentrated, with silky tannins, and a well-balanced acidity that lingers on the long, slightly savory finish. Try it with game stews or red meat.

Unbelievably fast and efficient service! I would like to receive emails from them on their selection of collectible bottles and any updates they make to this offering. Especially if they are getting allocations of wines that are more difficult to source (such as the Tolpuddle).
