Founded in 2008, the Miro Fondrk winery was initially born as a small boutique winery. Since 2015, the headquarters have moved, the cellar has been modernized, and the production has expanded, becoming one of the most interesting and awarded producers in Slovakia. The company that owns vineyards in the south of the country produces a selection of excellent quality wines, focusing attention on the careful processing of the grapes.
The Chardonnay grapes are selected and harvested by hand in the Pezinok vineyard located in the Small Carpathian wine region of Slovakia. After a short maceration at a low temperature, fermentation takes place in 500-liter oak barrels. The finished wine is aged for 12 months on the lees.
The Chardonnay Private Reserve from the Miro Fondrk winery is a very expressive and rich wine. The nose reveals notes of exotic fruit, dried flowers, vanilla, and light hints of biscuits. On the palate, it is full bodied and round with well-balanced acidity and a long, very pleasant finish that recalls flavors of yellow fruit. It is a wine that goes beautifully with food: it is perfect with roasted chicken or baked fish and it goes deliciously with lobster and crab.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
