Located in Luján de Cuyo in the Mendoza wine region, Argentina, the Mendel winery was born from the collaboration between Roberto de la Mota, a renowned winemaker considered the father of the country's wine renaissance, and the Sielecki family. The winery produces excellent wines from its own vineyards, some of which date back to 1928.

The Cabernet Franc grapes come from the Finca Remota estate, located in the Uco Valley in Paraje Altamira, approximately 1,100 meters above sea level. Here, the vines are rooted in sandy-loam soil with a substratum of limestone blocks. After manual selection and harvest, fermentation takes place in small tanks, where the wine macerates for 25 days. The finished wine then ages for one year in French oak, one-third of which is new.

The Mendel Cabernet Franc is a characterful wine of excellent quality. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby ​​color and a broad, complex aromatic profile with notes of red fruits such as raspberries and cherries interspersed with peppery hints and herbaceous touches. On the palate, it displays a medium body and firm, ripe tannins. It is round, soft, and elegant, with a pleasant fruit concentration well balanced by a refreshing acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with subtle peppery notes. Try it with meat dumplings or pork tenderloin with mushrooms.
