The Engelberg Grand Cru is a powerful Riesling, harvested from vines with an average age of 25 years. They grow on limestone-rich soils in the northern quarter of Alsace, a fresh and windswept terroir. The nose is packed with character – scents of stone fruit, sweet lemon, pomegranate, and flinty minerality all make an appearance.

When you taste a Mélanie Pfister wine, you can rest assured that it comes from a fully organic farm, made with minimal human intervention. She has been a pioneer of organic viticulture since 2018 and was the first non-German to obtain the “Fair n Green” certification, from her headquarters in Dahlenheim, Alsace. Mélanie represents the 8th generation of Pfister winemakers, taking over the family business from her father in 2006.

The palate is dry, bringing crisp acidity and balanced fruit flavours. You can discover notes of zingy lemon zest, apricot, lime, and grapefruit, weighed against pure minerals and round orchard fruits. Riesling is one of the most food-friendly white wines you can buy, and this one is an excellent match for regional food pairings, such as chicken in white wine sauce, sauerkraut, or pork sausages.
