Markus Huber’s eponymous winery is set in Austria’s verdant Traisental Valley, the country’s smallest wine growing region which is known for its minerally full-bodied Riesling and Gruner Veltliner white wines. Markus is one of Austria’s most promising young winemakers and was named “Falstaff Winemaker of the Year” at an awards ceremony which is considered the Oscars of the Austrian wine industry.
This single vineyard wine comes from a steep east-facing slope with a gradient of 25% where the Riesling vines have to be planted on terraces. This special vineyard has very poor soils with lots of limestone which forces the vines to struggle, producing small quantities of particularly concentrated and aromatic fruit. Once in the winery the fruit is left to macerate on the skins for 12 hours before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged on the lees for 8 months in acacia wood barrels to add polish and a creamier texture.
Lemon peel, spring blossom and grapefruit define the nose while the first sip reveals a crisp, refreshing acidity, medium body, and bright citrus and stone fruit flavours ending in a pure, clean finish with hints of stony minerality.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
