Markus Huber's winery is one of the most renowned in Austria, with award-winning wines exported all over the world. The estate extends over approximately 50 hectares of vineyards where the most cultivated variety is Gruner Veltliner, Austrian flagship grape.
The Gruner Veltliner grapes come from the Alte Setz vineyard, with an eastern exposure and a soil made of deep loess located above the conglomerate of the Hollenburg-Karlstetten formation, made up of limestone and dolomite boulders deposited approximately 15 million years ago. The soil and the vines, which are more than 60 years old, guarantee the production of high-quality grapes. Fermentation takes place half in large acacia barrels and half in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The finished wine is then left to rest for 5 months on the yeasts.
This elegant Gruner Veltliner has a yellow color with greenish shades. On the nose, it reveals aromas of yellow apple, stone fruit, and spices, followed by hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, juicy and fruity. It is a complex wine with a long aftertaste and excellent aging potential. It works well with blue cheeses and Asian food.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
