Located in the Brda wine region (the Slovenian Collio), Marjan Simčič is a renowned family-run winery. It was Jozef Simčič who founded the business in 1860, and today the company and the vineyards are in the hands of Marjan, the fifth generation of the family. The company concentrates production on white vines which produce wines of excellent quality and longevity in the Collio.
The Pinot Grigio grapes come from the Italian Collio and more precisely from the Ronc di Zegla cru, a vineyard located at approximately 250 meters above sea level, planted on marly, clayey, and calcareous soils. The 45-year-old vines enjoy a south-east exposure. After the manual harvest, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in contact with the skins in oak vats. The finished wine then rests in oak vats for 12 on the yeasts before bottling.
Pinot Grigio Cru Selection has a pale pink color with coppery reflections. On the nose, it reveals a delicate and captivating bouquet of red apple and raspberry with hints of cardamom. On the palate, it is fresh and mineral, round and juicy. It has a medium body and a long, elegant finish. It is excellent as an aperitif or with Thai cuisine, with rich salads and seafood.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
