One of the rarest wines on the planet, this semi-sweet red wine is a great example of this classic Georgian wine style which is made in tiny quantities by Marani winery. Founded in 1915, this well-known Georgian producer is located close to the town of Telavi in Kakheti province. Today they are experts at working with iconic Georgian varieties as well as introducing international varieties.
Usakhelauri is a truly unique Georgian wine which is only found in the highlands of Racha-Lechkhumi at the foot of the Caucasus mountain range. The sloping vineyards must face south in order to get enough sunlight during the day, while the cold nights help to naturally preserve lots of acidity and aromatics in the fruit. The conditions mean that yields are very limited and the fruit is typically harvested by hand due to the terrain and to maintain excellent quality.
You’ll immediately notice the bright ruby hue in the glass and subtle hints of red cherries, crushed wild berries, and notes of dried herbs. On the palate expect a subtle hint of sweetness balanced by punchy tannins, a medium body and a long, full finish.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
