Located in Chavannay, Les Vins de Vienne winery celebrated its 25th birthday in 2021. It was founded by 3 winegrowers friends from the Northern Rhône (Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard, and François Villard) who in 1996 decided to plant 4 hectares of vineyards near the castle of the Archbishops, on the slopes of the village of Seyssuel, which is located just 2 km north of Vienne, and of which it was said that the best vineyards, destroyed in 1883 by phylloxera, could be compared to those of Côte Rôtie.

Taburnum is a fresh, tasty, complex, and very elegant 100% Viognier that demonstrates all the talent of the 3 winemakers at the helm of the Vins de Vienne company.

It is a very aromatic dry white with a nice bright light yellow color. On the nose, it is very fruity with delicious aromas of apricot and nectarine and very pleasant floral notes of violet. On the palate, the wine is fresh and mineral with the typical roundness of the Viognier grape of the Rhone Valley. A Vin de Pays that is reminiscent of a Condrieu: elegant, pleasant, and lean. Try it with fish, seafood and shellfish, or frog legs.
