Lakeview Cellars was founded by Eddy Gurinskas and his wife Lorraine in 1991 who produced an impressive 2,300 cases in their first year. Today the estate specialises in producing full-bodied reds and delicate, aromatic whites. In recent years the cool Niagara climate has also helped put the region on the map for icewine since the plunging temperatures help to freeze the grapes and concentrate the sugars.
This voluptuous icewine is made from the hybrid Vidal grape variety that’s primarily grown in Niagara and the northeastern US thanks to its ability to withstand cold conditions. It's a great choice to make icewine since it’s able to produce plenty of sugar and acidity which in turn helps to make perfectly-balanced sweet wines.
This classic example is bursting with aromatic notes of apricot, mango, pineapple and honey, while the first sip reveals a lusciously sweet flavour profile with ample ripe tropical fruit flavours and a long finish with a bright streak of acidity to balance the sugar. It’s a great wine to serve instead of dessert or alongside poached pears, fruit cheesecakes, or even blue cheese. It can also be cellared for a few more years if desired to add extra complexity and polish.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
