Located in the village of Vartsikhe in the Georgian wine region of Imereti, Labara Winery owns approximately 12 hectares of vineyards, producing premium-quality natural wines from indigenous grape varieties using both traditional methods and modern technologies.
The grapes of the native Tsolikouri grape come from the estate vineyards in Vartsikhe, in western Georgia. Here, the vines enjoy the protection of the Caucasus Mountains and a unique subtropical climate, tempered by breezes from the Black Sea, that create optimal conditions for viticulture. After manual harvesting and fermentation in qvevri (terracotta jars traditionally used in Georgian winemaking) with a portion of the pomace, the finished wine rests in qvevri .
In the glass, Labara Tsolikouri displays a golden yellow color. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex, with notes of pear, apple, and quince, hints of marzipan, and a light saline finish. On the palate, it's mineral, lively, and fresh, with a crisp acidity that perfectly balances the flavor. It's smooth and well-structured, and has a long, savory finish. It’s a very food-friendly wine: it pairs well with fish and seafood, Lebanese cuisine, and mac & cheese.
